Did you ever hear about Eurocent? It’s one of the loan originators that was offering peer-to-peer loans with buyback guarantee on Mintos, which means they are supposedly ensure the payment of a delayed loan although the borrower doesn’t pay an installment for more than 60 days. One day in June 2017 they interrupted their buyback guarantee commitment. It doesn’t necessarily mean, after that day, investors will lose all of their money: indeed they continued to pass borrower payments to investors for a while even if Mintos suspended their loans in the marketplace. However, after two years, the saga of Eurocent is still ongoing and investors are still waiting to know when and how much they can get back. The company was officially declared bankrupt by the Polish court only during 2018 and, at today, the creditor list is still not approved!
